Dear Congress Participants,
It was a great pleasure for us to host you in Berlin and to organise for you the congress on “Housing Finance in Emerging Markets – Experiences and Challenges”

Without your active participation and your comments and remarks on the various views and suggestions expressed by the speakers, the congress would not have produced such a valuable outcome. We would be delighted if the results achieved could be of benefit for your work in housing and research on housing issues.

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank Business Architects International N.V., Ernst & Young AG, Deutsche Baurevision AG / Deloitte & Touche GmbH, Deutsche Post Adress GmbH, PricewaterhouseCoopers Deutsche Revision AG and SCHUFA Holding AG for their sponsoring of our congress. We highly appreciated their efforts and contributions to making this event happen.

Our aim was to provide a platform for a systematic dialogue about the development of strong housing finance markets for housing policy makers, financial sector officials, bankers, international organisations and practitioners. The outlines and initiatives presented during our congress confirm the rising need to tackle a better and more affordable supply of housing through adequate financing techniques. The programme was designed in such a way that it links practical experience to theoretical foundations, based on the recent discussions and concepts on housing finance which are circulating in the world.

We hope that we have met this objective and have been able to enlighten you with new ideas.

We look forward to a further intensification of the dialogue with you.

Our best regards
